Two ideas best describe Kurt’s methods of learning and creating when it comes to art: If you love something you’ll teach yourself; and art is not a science. His personal favorite novelists are: Dostoevsky, Honoré de Balzac, Victor Hugo, Henry James, Robert Louis Stevenson, George Eliot, George Meredith Nikolai Gogol, and Philip K. Dick. His personal favorite poets and playwrights are: Homer, Sophocles, Horace, Ovid, Dante, Shakespeare, Molière, Schiller, Tennyson, Henrik Ibsen, George Bernard Shaw, Walt Whitman, Poe, and Tennessee Williams. Kurt is also fond of history. He’s particularly interested in Classical Greece, Ancient Rome, and Napoleonic France.
Before becoming an author, Kurt taught himself how to play electric guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, how to read music, and how to sing. He composed three albums worth of music. And played over sixty shows in two different bands as lead guitar player and singer. He’s also performed stand-up comedy and created twenty minutes of original material.
Kurt hopefully expresses his wish to author several more books, which he’s already planned. They will include short stories, a short novel, novels, and a book series.
